Nine women (JacqueA with Sheba, SallieN, SheilaMcC, JoanB, MargieS, CarolynH, MarshaK, JanB, and Lisa M) joined me at Brushy Creek Regional Park this a.m. We had a great picnic site, quite shady and breezy.

Various groups took walks and Margie went on an nice bike ride. Mostly we enjoyed our shady spot and had a wonderful time really catching up with each other.  Some ladies had not met before and it was a great opportunity to get to know each other.  Near the end of the picnic, we did play some ladder ball.  I’ll definitely need a rematch on this as some ladies seemed to have amazing skill (or beginner’s luck!)

Everyone brought wonderful food to share. Four of us channeled our inner child and frolicked in the splash pad, a delightful way to cool off.

And the results are in, drumroll … three of three women who tried my vegan tofu no-egg salad liked it!

I forgot to mention that Marsha and the TOWNies (a great name for a group!) helped educate and help some dog owners who were apparently very inexperienced.  I was off at the splash pad and they filled a container with some water for the young dog that was overheated and over exerted, and provided some nonjudgemental information to the people.  Also, full disclosure here, I brought some stuff for the picnic, but in true TOWNie style, people brought lots of other delicious stuff.

Hope you can join me on an outdoor adventure soon!
Lisa
