If you are new to TOWN, please go to Meetup to get a free trial and payment options.

If you are renewing, we will be using Meetup for renewals starting in 2025. Here is the summary as approved by the Board.  We will enable the payment option on our TOWN-Austin Meetup group in early January.  We will have computers and helpers available during the Holiday Party January 11, 2025 in the afternoon to facilitate Meetup online registration.

FAQ’s about the new registration:

  1. What is the Meetup  registration? We are using Meetup to process membership dues.
  2. Should I be using Meetup in browser or the App? We found that Meetup works best in the browser. The app is somewhat glitchy.
  3. What if I already paid my 2025 dues in Oct-Dec, 2024? Do I still need to pay? No. We should have entered your payment already but if you are charged, please contact Membership Chair.
  4. What if I am a Golden Townie? Do I still need to pay? No, the Membership Chair will automatically waive your fee.
  5. How do I pay the 2025 membership dues? Please follow the link in the Meetup email. Lost the email? No worries, you will receive a couple more right before February 2.  And you can use that link.
  6. I am no longer interested or able to participate in TOWN. How do I leave the group? Please follow instructions listed here — How do I leave Meetup group . Keep in mind that you will be removed immediately. We do not offer refunds for membership dues.
  7. How do I disable recurring payments? AFTER YOU PAY THE MEMBERSHIP DUES FOR 2025, you can go to Settings->Payments Made. Click on Update next to your credit card number. Scroll to Cancel Dues Here. Click on that link. You will see a message about what will happen. Click Stop Paying button. e You will be able to continue being a member throughout 2025. Additionally, you will receive an email notification before your 2025 membership expires, reminding you to pay the 2026 dues if you wish to continue your membership.
  8. What if I miss the deadline to pay?  You will be removed from the TOWN group. You will not be able to see the details of the events or sign up for events. However, you will still be on Meetup.  If you choose to rejoin, you will NOT have a free trial.
  9. What about recurring dues? At the end of the annual membership, you will receive a couple of emails from Meetup that will remind you that your card will be charged for 2026. At that point, you will have an opportunity to pay the membership dues for 2026 or cancel.
  10. I am really concerned about Meetup storing my credit card information. How do I remove it? First of all, the credit card information is stored in Stripe which is a well-known payment processor with stellar record. However, you are welcome to remove your credit card information by doing the following:  you can update or delete your payment method from your Meetup account’s payment methods page.
