Four TOWNAustin women — GailP-C, JudyA, PaulaB and KathleenG — met at The Rowing Dock. The temperature seemed so much cooler, and the evening was so nice! The water level was high and the current was strong the closer we got to Red Bud Island. We spoke with several stand up boarders who said the current was strong, so they had turned around. The water coming from the open gate on the dam was loud! We kayaked nearly to the bridge and decided to turn around. We could see the force of the water coming out of the gate as we headed back. Returning was a breeze as the current moved us easily to The Rowing Dock. The traffic was light on the water, and we didn’t see any wildlife along the way.
We had a nice visit getting to know each other. JudyA and PaulaB found out they live in the same neighborhood. We did not go out to eat afterwards, which I am sure is hard to believe.
