March 1, Hike at Lake Georgetown
What a great day for a hike. Spring is just around the corner even as another cold front approaches.
Ten of us, JaniceB, MarshaK, JeanS, KarenW, LisaD, EdenB, RachelA, DebbieC, JanB, JennyF, and Rambo (Jean’s 4 legged friend) gathered at Cedar Breaks trail head at Lake Georgetown. We hiked just over 3 miles to the first bridge where we turned around and hiked back. We stopped at Crockett Springs and marveled at the amount of water coming from the spring and enjoyed the vibrant green of the fern. The attached photo is taken in front of the rocks by the springs.
We were well equipped with a first aid kit consisting of a dozen chocolate chip cookies…. compliments of JanB. Thank you Jan:)
Upon returning to the trail head, we drove over to the picnic area and enjoyed a lakeside picnic.
What a nice way to spend time. Happy Hiking, J and J
